IMSI (Intracytoplasmic Morphologically Selected Sperm Injection)
It is sperm microinjection selected with high microscopic magnification in Turkish. It allows the sperm to be examined in detail at larger magnifications in the microscope. Thus, especially the organelles in the head region of the sperm or the cavities called vacuoles are evaluated in more detail and the best quality sperm is selected and used in the fertilization process of the egg.
While the sperm cell is enlarged approximately 400 times in standard microscopes, the best sperm are selected under magnification of 6000-8000 times in the IMSI program and with the help of a special computer program. In this way, higher fertilization is achieved with better sperm, especially in couples with sperm factor.
Anomalies in the sperm head are the most effective anomalies on fertilization rate and healthy embryo development. The lower the number-morphology (structure) and mobility of the sperm, the lower the sperm's anomaly rate increases as the man's age increases. In this context, choosing the IMSI method helps us to achieve a higher fertilization rate and more healthy pregnancy.
With IMSI, greater success is achieved, especially compared to the standard ICSI method in the following cases:
* Patients with low sperm values
* Patients with very low or 0 sperm morphology
* Patients with recurrent IVF failure
* Patients with recurrent miscarriages
* Patients with low embryo quality despite good quality eggs
Our IVF laboratory has an advanced IMSI system and we offer our patients the most modern facilities with our experienced embryologists.
Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, we can select healthy embryos using genetic screening methods. For couples with a family history or risk of genetic disease, this method offers a very high chance of having a healthy baby.
