We began our IVF journey because my husband had no sperm. However, on the day my eggs were to be retrieved, no sperm was found, and my treatment came to an abrupt halt. It’s impossible to put into words the heartbreak I felt that day—may no one ever have to experience such a thing!
To make matters worse, because my eggs weren’t retrieved, I suffered from pelvic pain for nearly two weeks and had to endure months of follow-ups for ovarian cysts to resolve. I was completely drained—both emotionally and physically. When doctors said that a second TESE surgery wouldn’t work due to my husband’s genetic condition, I thought this meant closing the chapter on becoming a mother for good.
A friend later suggested the idea of pregnancy through a sperm bank, so I started researching it. At first, I couldn’t bring myself to talk to my husband about it, but deep down, I was desperate to become a mother. I was still so young. One day, I gathered my courage and brought up the idea with him. To my surprise, he didn’t react negatively. In fact, he also wanted me to become a mother and for us to be a family.
Once we made the decision, everything became much easier. We started speaking with several centers. Honestly, once you leave your number somewhere, they call you relentlessly—even if you don’t call them back!
After receiving recommendations from friends and doing my own research, I decided to undergo treatment at Kolan British IVF Center. Throughout the process, the doctor and the entire team were incredibly attentive. Knowing that the donors underwent comprehensive health screenings and genetic testing, with certified documentation, gave us peace of mind.
Thanks to the successful treatment, we now have our little boy, the joy of our home, and we have finally become a complete family. Thank you so much, Kolan British IVF family.
